Akutah disclosed this in a statement issued by the Head of Public Relations Unit of the council, Mrs Rebecca Adamu, on Tuesday in Lagos.

He said the performance bond was signed at a stakeholders’ engagement and was conducted by the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Dr Adegboyega Oyetola.

The minister emphasised the need for a result-oriented approach across ministries, departments and agencies, noting that the performance bonds were binding commitments that would be closely monitored.

Highlighting the council’s achievements in 2025, he said the NSC recorded progress in the development of Inland Dry Ports (IDPs) across designated locations nationwide.

He added that the council continued to play a key role in facilitating the establishment of IDPs with the support of the supervising ministry.
