Lagos Continental Hotel has partnered with DGIC International Business Services Limited to provide practical hospitality training for young Nigerians, creating a pathway to international vocational education and careers in the hospitality industry.
The partnership is aimed at equipping participants with industry-relevant skills, promoting job creation, and strengthening Nigeria’s hospitality workforce.
DGIC International Business Services Limited, the service unit of the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Nigeria, will identify and prepare qualified participants, while Lagos Continental Hotel will provide hands-on training across its five-star hospitality operations.
Speaking on the initiative, Head of Competence Centre, Skills Development at DGIC International Business Services Ltd., Adedotun Adeoye, said the programme is part of the African Skills for Germany (AS4G) initiative, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE).
According to him, selected participants will undergo practical hospitality training at Lagos Continental Hotel before proceeding to Germany for a three-year vocational training programme.
“The goal is to provide real workplace experience, strengthen technical and professional skills, and prepare participants for entry into Germany’s globally respected vocational training system,” Adeoye said.
General Manager of Lagos Continental Hotel, Christoph Schleissing, described the partnership as an investment in the future of Nigeria’s hospitality industry.

He added that the collaboration demonstrates the impact of partnerships between the private sector and development institutions in creating opportunities for young people.
Under the agreement, participants will receive practical training across the hotel’s operations, gaining technical skills, workplace experience, and exposure to international hospitality standards before advancing to vocational training in Germany.
The initiative is expected to strengthen Nigeria’s hospitality talent pipeline while supporting youth employment and skills development.
