According to a statement issued by the Board, the virtual lecture is scheduled for Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., where the seasoned industry expert will speak on the topic, “Finding Funds for Effective and Efficient Local Content Initiatives – IPPG Perspective.”
The lecture forms part of the Academy’s sustained efforts to deepen discourse, promote capacity building, and stimulate innovation within Nigeria’s local content ecosystem, particularly across the oil and gas and allied sectors.
Engr. Attah, a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, is widely regarded as a leading figure in Nigeria’s energy industry.
He previously served as Managing Director of Nigeria LNG Limited and Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company, where he played key roles in advancing major industry projects and indigenous participation.
His lecture is expected to draw on his vast experience, particularly in designing sustainable funding models and executing impactful local content programmes.
He is also recognised for his strategic leadership, including overseeing the final investment decision on the NLNG Train 7 project, a milestone widely considered significant in Nigeria’s gas sector development.
The NCDMB noted that the lecture will attract a diverse audience, including professionals in oil and gas, energy, and manufacturing, policymakers, government officials, finance experts, local content practitioners, entrepreneurs, investors, academics, and students.
Financial institutions and development partners are also encouraged to participate via the provided virtual platform.
The session will feature a keynote presentation by Engr. Attah, followed by an interactive question-and-answer segment and broader stakeholder engagement aimed at fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Organisers stated that the upcoming lecture will provide practical insights into sourcing and managing funding for local content initiatives, while also highlighting prevailing challenges and emerging opportunities within the Nigerian content landscape.
It is further expected to promote strategic thinking and encourage stronger collaboration among industry players, financiers, and policymakers.
The Nigerian Content Academy Lecture Series continues to serve as a platform for strengthening local capacity, bridging knowledge gaps, and supporting sustainable economic growth through effective implementation of local content policies.
Over time, the series has hosted notable industry figures, including Ernest Nwapa, Austin Avuru, and Nosa Omorodion, among others, reinforcing its role as a hub for high-level industry engagement.
The Board reaffirmed its commitment to creating platforms that drive meaningful conversations and deliver actionable outcomes for Nigeria’s economic development.
