As excitement builds for the historic FIFA World Cup 2026, Continental Hotels is raising the bar for football hospitality in Africa with an immersive fan experience designed to bring supporters closer to the action than ever before.

From June 11 to July 19, Lagos Continental Hotel and Abuja Continental Hotel will become premier World Cup destinations, offering fans a blend of live football, luxury hospitality, entertainment, and world-class dining throughout the tournament.

The centrepiece of the experience is at Abuja Continental Hotel, where the Pool Bar has been transformed into what the hotel describes as a “Stadium Under the Sky.” A massive 10-metre by 6-metre broadcast-grade LED screen, mounted against the hotel’s iconic terracotta façade, will deliver crystal-clear coverage of every match, creating one of Nigeria’s largest outdoor World Cup viewing arenas.

Speaking during the unveiling, Richard Mutanda, Cluster Director of Sales and Marketing, Continental Hotels, said the initiative was designed to give football fans a memorable tournament experience beyond traditional viewing.

“We wanted to create an unparalleled destination for football fans to celebrate the World Cup. Our giant LED screens, world-class hospitality, themed experiences, and engaging activities ensure that whether guests join us for one match or the entire tournament, they will create memories that last a lifetime,” he said.

Beyond the matches, Continental Hotels has curated a lineup of themed food, beverage, and entertainment experiences. The “Watch, Sip & Score” package combines live football with signature cocktails inspired by World Cup host nations, gourmet burgers, and match-day favourites.

Guests can also enjoy the “Suya by the Pool” experience, which reimagines Nigeria’s iconic street food in a premium poolside setting. A special FIFA World Cup Beer Bucket promotion will feature shareable platters including spring rolls, samosas, and beef kebabs, while weekly Thursday Salsa Nights and “Magical Mondays” cocktail promotions will keep the atmosphere vibrant throughout the tournament.

A major highlight will be the Father’s Day World Cup Brunch on June 21, featuring live cooking stations, indulgent desserts, family entertainment, and football on the giant screen.

In Lagos, the celebration continues at the hotel’s 5th Floor Sports Bar & Lounge, where fans can enjoy matches on a 5-metre by 2-metre LED screen supported by stadium-quality surround sound.

The hotel’s World Cup Sunday Brunch Series at Ekaabo Restaurant will offer themed culinary experiences inspired by participating nations, including Mexican Fiesta, Canadian Maple, All-American, and a Grand Finale Brunch.

For visiting fans and international travellers, Continental Hotels is also introducing “Stay & Play” packages, offering up to 50 percent off the Best Available Rate, allowing guests to stay, dine, relax, and enjoy every moment of the tournament without leaving the property.

With reservations already gaining momentum ahead of kickoff, Continental Hotels is positioning itself as Africa’s premier destination for football enthusiasts seeking an elevated World Cup experience that combines luxury, entertainment, and the passion of the beautiful game.
