Nigerian forces receive 800 deportees from Niger

 

Abuja, March 2026 (TBL Africa) No fewer than 800 Nigerian deportees have been received from the Niger Republic at the Jibia-Magama border in Katsina by a team of Nigerian security forces.

This is contained in an operational report made available on Sunday.

The report stated that the deportees, comprising men, women, and children, arrived at about 9:30 a.m. aboard eight buses.

It added that the returnees were currently undergoing profiling by officials from the Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Customs Service, the Police, and other intelligence agencies.

According to the report, the exercise aims to ensure proper documentation and security screening of the deportees.

The report further disclosed that, after profiling, the deportees would be moved to Kano State for further necessary action.
