BOI disburses N644.9bn loans in 2025 – chief executive

Lagos, Oct.  2026 – Olasupo Olusi, the Chief Executive of Bank of Industry (BOI), says the bank disbursed N644.9 billion in loans to 12,501 businesses in different sectors of the economy in 2025.

Olusi, who disclosed this in Lagos during a press briefing with business editors, said this was the largest amount of loan disbursement the bank ever had.

He said the bank was currently at the mid-point of its 2025-2027 strategy implementation, which he said, was yielding desired results.

“The results so far tell us that the strategy is working. In 2025, we disbursed N645 billion, which is the highest ever disbursement by the bank.

“This represents a 26 per cent increase on N510 billion we disbursed in 2024.

“And our financing has reached 12,500 more businesses and helped to create or support 1.6 million jobs.

“We disbursed over N120 billion to women-owned businesses, which again shows how much we are committed to delivering on our strategy to enhance opportunities for gender.

“We are also on track across our thematic areas. MSMEs received over 41 per cent of our 2025 funding, even against our 35 per cent target.

“Youths and women received 20 per cent each against our 15 per cent and 10 per cent minimum commitment, respectively.

“In infrastructure, we recorded N108 billion funding, including 100 mini-grids to power businesses and households, as well as broadband internet connectivity to over 700 communities.

“We also achieved our disbursement targets for climate and social financing,” he said
