Ojulari, Tinubu, NLNG chief take center stage on Global Energy Security at CERAWeek 2026

Nigeria’s energy heavyweights are stepping onto the global stage as Bayo Ojulari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd., Wale Tinubu, Group CEO of Oando Plc and Adeleye Falade, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NLNG prepare to drive high-level conversations on energy security at CERAWeek 2026 in Houston.
The presence of the Nigerian executives at the world’s most influential energy forum signals the country’s rising strategic importance in shaping global oil, gas and LNG markets at a time of deep uncertainty and transition.
Scheduled for March 23 to 27, the conference, organised by S&P Global, will convene thousands of industry leaders, policymakers, investors and technology innovators to address the most urgent challenges confronting the global energy system.
Under the theme “Convergence and Competition: Energy, Technology and Geopolitics,” this year’s gathering comes amid intensifying geopolitical rivalries, fragile supply chains and the accelerating fusion of energy systems with digital technologies, particularly artificial intelligence.
Chaired by renowned energy historian Daniel Yergin, the 44th edition of CERAWeek will explore how innovation and competition are reshaping both global energy markets and the broader economic order.
At the core of the discussions is a defining challenge: how to deliver energy that is not only abundant, but secure, affordable and sustainable in an increasingly fragmented world.
Participants will examine the resilience of the oil value chain, the rapid transformation of natural gas and LNG markets, and the mounting pressure on power systems driven by electrification and AI-led demand growth.
The conference will also spotlight the growing role of critical minerals, low-carbon fuels and emerging electrification technologies—sectors now central to national security and long-term economic competitiveness.
Equally critical are questions around investment and financing, as stakeholders seek new pathways to fund resilient and sustainable energy infrastructure amid economic volatility and shifting policy landscapes.
A major highlight will be the Innovation Agora, a hub for breakthrough ideas spanning artificial intelligence, hydrogen, nuclear energy and automation, bringing together startups, investors and global corporations at the forefront of energy transformation.
With over 10,000 participants from nearly 90 countries, CERAWeek 2026 is poised to shape the trajectory of the global energy industry, placing Nigeria, through its leading executives, firmly at the heart of the conversation on the future of energy security.
