SON to begin phase II of national single window soon
The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) is set to review and validate its export processes for Phase II of the National Single Window implementation programme, in collaboration with the National Single Window (NSW) Project Secretariat.
The SON recently met with the National Single Window (NSW) Project Secretariat with discussions centered on preparations for Phase Two, covering export licences, certificates, permits and Form NXP, with participants reviewing measures to improve efficiency, reduce duplication and strengthen inter-agency collaboration.
The Director General/Chief Executive, SON, Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwunonso Okeke, was ably represented by the Director, Corporate Affairs, Mrs. Talatu Ethan, reaffirmed SON’s commitment to supporting the Federal Government’s digital trade reforms and enhancing Nigeria’s export competitiveness through collaboration and regulatory efficiency.
The NSW Project Team presented the platform as a unified digital gateway designed to simplify import and export procedures, improve transparency and strengthen coordination among government agencies. SON was also recognised for its successful integration and full compliance during Phase One of the project.
The meeting ended with the adoption of key action points to support seamless implementation, with participants expressing confidence that the initiative will enhance trade facilitation, improve export processes and boost Nigeria’s competitiveness in global trade.
