BREAKING: Saudi Arabia Confirms Friday As Eid al-Fitr Day
Saudi Arabia has officially announced that Eid al-Fitr will be observed on March 20.
The decision came after the Shawwal crescent moon was not sighted, completing 30 days of Ramadan fasting.
This marks the end of the fasting month, with 2026 Eid prayers following Thursday night’s Tarawih.
The moon-sighting committee convened to assess reports and confirmed the transition to the new month.
This follows the long-standing Islamic practice of determining the start of months based on lunar observation, ensuring alignment with religious tradition.
Similar announcements are expected across other regions following the Saudi announcement.
