PETAN returns to OTC 2026 with renewed strategy to position Nigerian energy firms globally

PETAN returns to OTC 2026 with renewed strategy to position Nigerian energy firms globally

By Communications Desk headed by Dr. Joan Faluyi, revealed  that Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN) From May 4–7, 2026, the global energy industry will gather in Houston, Texas, for the Offshore Technology Conference 2026—widely regarded as the most influential platform for offshore energy dialogue, deal-making, and innovation.

For the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria, this is more than routine participation. It marks a deliberate and strategic return aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s position within the global energy value chain.

A Strategic Return, Not a First Appearance
PETAN has, over the years, maintained a consistent presence at OTC, representing Nigeria’s indigenous oil and gas service and technology companies.

That track record has reinforced a clear message: Nigerian firms possess the expertise, resilience, and technical capacity to compete on the global stage.

At OTC 2026, PETAN is returning with sharper alignment and a more defined objective—ensuring that Nigerian companies are not just present, but actively engaged and recognized as credible global partners.

Leadership Sets the Tone
Chairman Wole Ogunsanya underscored the importance of this year’s participation, noting that OTC remains a critical arena where global energy decisions take shape.

“We have seen firsthand how global energy decisions are shaped at OTC. This year, we are going back to ensure indigenous Nigerian capacity is not just present—but recognised, engaged, and heard. We are taking our businesses to the table where real partnerships are formed.”

Nigerian Pavilion Takes Center Stage
PETAN’s activities will be anchored at the Nigerian Pavilion, built around the theme:
“Africa’s Energy Transformation: Scaling Investment, Technology, and Local Capacity for Sustainable Growth.”

The pavilion is designed as a hub for investment conversations, technical showcases, and direct engagement between Nigerian companies and international stakeholders.
Key Engagements

As part of its programme, PETAN will convene and participate in several high-level events, including:
The African Energy Forum, focused on investment flows and Africa’s evolving energy landscape.

The NCDMB–OEM Investment Forum, facilitating partnerships between Nigerian firms and global manufacturers.

The PETAN Golf Tournament on May 7 at Quail Valley Golf Course, providing an informal setting for executive-level networking

Why OTC Matters
For Nigerian businesses, OTC represents far more than a conference—it is a gateway to global opportunity.

It is where visibility builds credibility, engagement drives partnerships, and presence translates into measurable commercial value.

In an increasingly competitive energy landscape, securing a seat at the global table is essential.

Through sustained participation, PETAN continues to assert and defend Nigeria’s place in that conversation.

From Visibility to Strategic Positioning
Under Ogunsanya’s leadership, PETAN is shifting its focus from mere participation to purposeful positioning.

The goal is clear: Nigerian companies must not only be seen, but seriously considered as partners in major international energy projects.

  • Call to Action
PETAN is urging Nigerian companies to leverage OTC 2026 as a platform to showcase their capabilities, build strategic relationships, and expand into global markets.

As the world converges in Houston, PETAN will once again stand at the forefront—projecting Nigeria’s energy capabilities with clarity and intent.

The question now is not whether the opportunity exists, but who will seize it.
