Tinubu approves dissolution of committee on sale of federal government’s properties
Abuja, July 2026 – President Bola Tinubu has approved the dissolution of the Presidential Implementation Committee on the Alienation of Federal Government Properties.
Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, announced this in a statement on Thursday.
The statement said the dissolution took effect from Nov. 5, 2025, while its former Secretary, B. S. Dutsin-Ma, had been directed to immediately cease acting on behalf of the Committee and the Federal Government on all related matters.
It directed that all functions of the committee be transferred to the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice.
The statement said the decision followed an investigation that found out that the Committee had extended its activities beyond its original mandate and which had resulted in series of litigation across the country.
“After careful consideration, the government has noted that the activities of the PIC had extended beyond its original mandate, resulting in multiple litigations across the country, and the continued existence of the committee is no longer justified,” the statement said.
The Committee was established by President Olusegun Obasanjo.
