Ibeju-Lekki estate to bridge housing deficit – LGA chairman
Ibeju (Lagos), May 2026 (TBL Africa ) The Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area, Mr Abdullahi Sesan-Olowa, says the council’s ongoing housing estate project will address the projected housing deficit in the fast-growing industrial hub of Lagos State.
Sesan-Olowa, who described recent developments in the area as exponential, noted that infrastructural growth must keep pace with the economic transformation of the corridor.
The chairman spoke on Friday during an on-the-spot assessment of the construction site, assuring the public of the local government’s commitment to providing affordable accommodation.
He expressed satisfaction with the progress of the 120-unit housing scheme, adding that the allocation of the houses would follow due process.
According to him, several units of the estate have already reached advanced stages of completion.
“This milestone reflects the steady pace of construction and the administration’s continued commitment to delivering a modern, well-planned residential community within the rapidly developing Ibeju-Lekki corridor.
“It is to position the area to respond to the ongoing infrastructural and economic transformation of the locality into one of Lagos State’s most promising investment destinations.
“Further updates on construction and allocation timelines will be communicated in due course,” the chairman said.
