Police deploy heavy security for APC senatorial primaries in Kosofe

Lagos, May  2026 (TBL Africa )ACP Shola Omilade, Area Commander, Area H Command, Ogudu, Lagos, says adequate security personnel have been deployed to ensure peaceful conduct of the APC senatorial primaries in the area.

Omilade gave the assurance in an interview at Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area(LCDA), one of the venues for the ongoing senatorial primaries in Lagos State.

She said reports at her disposal indicated that the environment remained calm, while APC members had already gathered at the venue awaiting the arrival of electoral officials.

“We have adequate security personnel on the ground. The area is relatively calm, and we are still expecting the officials. You can see party members willing to cast their votes,” she said.

She expressed optimism that the exercise would be conducted peacefully, adding that security agencies were prepared to respond to any unforeseen situation.

“I expect them to cast their votes peacefully, but if it turns out otherwise, we are ready,” Omilade said.

Also speaking, Mrs Simbiat Bada, Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri Local LCDA, described the situation in the area as peaceful and orderly.

“Generally, the area is relatively calm. We are patiently waiting for the officials to arrive,” she said.
