Nigeria: Former AGF Aondoakaa Resigns from APC

Michael Aondoakaa, former Attorney-General of the Federation, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC), effective March 28.

In a statement, Aondoakaa said he took the decision after “careful reflection and wide consultations” with his “family, political associates, and supporters”.

Aondoakaa expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his leadership and acknowledged the support of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume.

He also thanked party members in Benue State and beyond for their cooperation.

The former AGF urged his supporters to remain calm and peaceful, announcing that a new direction for Benue State would be communicated soon.

Aondoakaa served as minister of justice and attorney-general from 2007 to 2010.
