Abuja, July 2026(TBL Africa )The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Kano Region, in collaboration with the African Development Bank (AfDB), has provided support to Project Affected Persons (PAPs) in Kano.
The support was carried out during a two-day sensitisation programme for PAPs under the ongoing Mando–Rimin Zakara 330 (KV) Quad Transmission Line Project.
Mrs Ndidi Mbah, TCN’S General Manager, Public Affairs in a statement in Abuja on Thursday, said that PAPs from Kiru, Rimin Gado, Kabo and Tofa Local Government Areas of the state were engaged during the programme.
Mbah said that the support was part of efforts to support livelihood restoration, adding that the exercise featured the distribution of agricultural support packages to beneficiaries.
According to her, the package includes improved maize, bean seedlings as well as fertilisers, to enhance productivity and support economic recovery among the affected communities.
Mbah said that the programme reflected the commitment of TCN and AfDB to meaningful stakeholder engagement, responsible project implementation, fair compensation and sustainable livelihood restoration in the delivery of critical power infrastructure projects.
Speaking during the event, Mr Ibrahim Aliyah, the Assistant General Manager, Transmission Services, TCN, Kano Region highlighted the strategic importance of the Mando–Rimin Zakara 330kV Quad Transmission Line Project in strengthening grid stability and improving electricity supply across the region.
Aliyu also encouraged the beneficiaries to make effective use of the agricultural inputs provided and urged all PAPs who received full compensation to immediately vacate the transmission line Right-of-Way (RoW).
He, however, cautioned that continued occupation or construction of structures within high-voltage transmission corridors posed significant risks to lives and property.
